Taylor Mayer Named the 2nd Place Recipient of the Kent Lage Leadership Award

Taylor Mayer was named the second-place recipient of the 2026 Kent Lage Leadership Award, earning a $750 scholarship. Taylor will attend Johnson & Wales University this fall, majoring in Animal Science.

Taylor joined Massachusetts 4-H five years ago. A resident of Rehoboth, she attends Bristol County Agricultural High School.

Taylor has been a member of the City Slickers 4-H Club in which she has served as Vice President, President, and currently Junior Leader, helping the leader direct activities for the club.

In Massachusetts 4-H, Taylor has participated in Horse Judging, Horse Bowl, and Hippology at both the state and national levels. She competed at the Eastern National 4-H Horse Roundup in Louisville, KY in Horse Judging in 2024, the Horse Bowl in 2025, and will compete in Hippology in 2026.

Taylor has also participated in Visual Presentations at the country and state levels and showed her horse, Harry, at The Big E.

At the Bristol Aggie, Taylor participates in FFA and is a member of the National Honor Society.

In the future, Taylor would like to work with horses. Congratulations, Taylor!
